Temp Alliance With Instinct & Wednesday WoE’s

Thursday, March 12th, 2009

As you may have seen yourself, we are temporarily allied to Instinct. This was a move that was discussed through myself, Rea, Lorek, Gen, and Mike. The entire meeting was discussing the temporary alliances with both Instinct and Equilibrium, but I stated the issues that were had when Equilibrium was brought up. So that will not be happening unless the guild turns opinion around.

The trial running period will be somewhere in the ballpark of 2-3 weeks. During this period, we will be running the first hour together and the 2nd hour we will split apart and attempt holds on our own individual castles. Most likely, we will all be in a single vent channel to make the first hour a bit more understandable. If this is the case, then please keep random talk to a minimum as it will be hard to hear where we are going and what we’re doing. Personally, I’m going to suggest middle Valk as our first rushing area. Lots of people, lots of fighting, lots of practice. It’ll certainly help with our organizational skills.

Events Page and The Point System

lol I’m sure you can see that at the moment, I’ve been so lazy that the events page has not been made yet. I’ll try to stop being so blasted lazy so that it’s more in line. Additionally, I’m going to be making a new page for guild item turn-in’s. The point system will be drawn up as soon as possible. I’ve already got a few ideas in mind that should indefinitely help. Any opinions and suggestions are always welcome on the matter to improve the overall scheme of things.

Tehe, images are good. Ahem. How I imagine the point system working involves the guild bank and the guild titles. Along the lines of:

Point gain = ((Base Item Cost x Number of Items) / 1,000) + (Zeny Donation To Bank / 1,000)

As you can see, each point you have is basically 1k zeny. There is a limit on things that can be donated and taken of course. For one; only items that someone (or the guild as a whole) could find useful would be accepted. Random quest items are accepted all depending on what quest and the item amount. Depending on how much of a response that this gets, I will be starting a third account to house the items (to which, it will probably be full of smiths and alchemists). The ability for the items to be confused with my own personal stock could be too high and cause a ruckus later on so this course is going to be taken in all likelihood.

Secondly; one that has points cannot withdraw zeny from the guild bank. Due to the bank not being replenished since our last castle hold, this option is on hold until we establish ourselves more prominently and gain a growing bank.

Lastly; while I’m not going to heavily enforce this last one, I do ask you take it into consideration. There are, in spite what some may think, some rare equips within the guild bank that I’m going to be putting on the point listings. Some of them are class specific. I would hope that you only take what you need for a character you use often (which I should hope is the one within the guild) as some others may need that item as their main instead of someone snagging it for an alt character.

Each item in the bank will be assigned a point value and point tallies will be drawn up for each person who donates an item/zeny. At the end of every week values will be researched for each individual item and marked on the point conversion page. Granted it’s not going to have a bunch of fancy forms and such, but eventually I will get that working for you all so it’s not as difficult to find what it is that you’re trading to see the values. The exact time will all depend on the numbers of the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. So one of those three days will serve as an updating time, but only the major items will be marked down such as Stems and Blue Herbs.

Two Main Officers = Three Shu’s?!

There are two main guild officers as you may know. Neko ( Wild~Rose ) and Danny ( :+:Danny:+: ). Both of which now have access to my account and are given authority to use it during Wednesday WoE’s. If one is not on, the other has the capability to run WoE in my absence due to my work. I would hope that you all give them the same respect you would give me during a WoE (er…make that more. How many times have you all said I’m lame? xD )

I will be handing the purchasing of supplies the day beforehand and making sure that you all have what’s needed. The exception of which are white potions, green potions and traps. These things can become too heavy and can be purchased at the tool shop nearby.

lol Okay, I’m pretty sure this is all I had to bring up at the moment. Stay gold everyone and…

Guild Bank Specifics and Treasure Handling

Friday, October 17th, 2008

There’s quite a bit of things to handle within the guild now. Lots of new changes which I am still looking for input on and really, I need those bits of input. I’m not going to be just making changes which no one approves of. That causes people to, of course, become displeased and then start stepping away.

Let’s begin the discussion, shall we?

The Guild Bank

First of all, let me say that I’m really happy that people are really donating to the bank. All of which is held and documented in the thread on the forums concerning the Guild Bank. It’s taken up well over half of the space inside the cart of a merchant I made just for holding the donations.

There’s only one problem with this. In spite of the fact that there are indeed new people to the game in the guild, they aren’t actually requesting anything. It’s nice to be selfless or humble or whatever, but this is what the guild bank is for. If it’s needed, I can take more of an administrative over the Guild Bank so that it finds its way across the people. This will be far more difficult though due to not knowing the equips and item needs of the people.

Also, I want to make very clear, that only dedicated people who have at least shown 5 days of activity can request from the bank. That, or if you have recommendations from at least 2 guild officers. Later on, I’ll be making a thread on who is a guild officer and ways to contact them if they have no objections to being listed.

Guild Treasures From Sixth Castle

A great deal of them have been placed into the guild fund. These things are what are useable by people during future WoE runs. Yggdrasilberries, seeds, Oridecon, and Elunium. Some items have been delegated to Makkarei with the help of Solanis. This is because of Makkarei’s donation to LS as a thanks for helping him have a castle. Again, I’ve seen nothing from Kakumei, so they aren’t getting a share. With FN Pirates’s share, I just picked out some items I thought he may like or help other guildies find a use for.

The rest of the items are admittedly meager. A few equips. There is the Old Card Album, but I’m trying to vend that even as I type this. Here’s where I wish I had better luck with drops like Kakumei had. Four Old Card Albums are a pretty sweet addition on their part. Now here’s the issue. What in the world do I do with the rest of the items? I could vend them like always and divide up the goodies, but I can’t remember all of the names that showed up on that Saturday. Here’s the list of people I remember:

  • Myself
  • Neko
  • Kim
  • Kuros (for an hour and a half)
  • Resu
  • Danny
  • Kirawr
  • Greywolf
  • Nana

And here is where my mind goes blank.

Really don’t remember the others that came. Though for the sake of calculation, let’s say that those nine were the only ones that attended. These are what the shares would look like:

  • Two shares for myself.
  • One share for each other attendee.
  • Five shares for the Guild Bank. (This will be discussed further down)

That alone is 15 shares. With 15 shares and the things to sell right now, this is a rough estimate on what one share would look like.

(5,500,000 [OCA] + 200,000 [shoes] + 400,000 [muffler] + 2,000,000 [poison knife] + 350,000 [saints robe] ) / 15 = 563,333 Zeny a share.

Alright, that’s actually not a bad pull at all. The Guild Bank would pull 2,816,665 Zeny which can fund about 2 WoE. Now that’s not much. Considering the recent addition of Equilibrium to the alliance, we can only officially hold once every month now. Not including Wednesdays (dear God, how I wish I was able to come on Wednesdays. We need more breakers then…not just Saturday) . All in all, that is 8 WoE. Now, we’re covered in the Guild Bank for roughly 4 WoEs, as each one costs about 1.1m to fund. This is only if everything sells at those prices.

Even then, we are gathering more and more recruits which will eventually lower that average. That’s where I bring up our next topic.

The WoE Divide

This is all just under discussion as of yet. Nothing gets passed unless I can get a good vote of confidence in it.

As of right now, there is nothing really motivating about coming to WoE unless you count of course, getting to kill people with a huge group. So keeping in mind that there is indeed a Guild Bank, I need to know just how you all want to handle the guild treasures. I know, I know, it’s long overdue. I’m sorry I haven’t been on as much as I should be. Hell, I last edited this post on the 9th. Er…I’ll cover all that in the next issue. The way I think we should handle the treasures is by the method I described above. I can try to supply the guild with whatever the Bank can’t cover.

Of course, there are always new ways to handle this. Any other methods on how to do it are greatly appreciated. Also, I’m not at all forgetting that I still need to send people the reimbursements that I promised. The said people are listed in the WoE signup thread for a past week. Today I’ll be doing all of that once I finish working out the kinks in the next issue.

Shu’s Personal Stuff

As you may very well know, I’ve had it with Las Vegas. I’ve had it with the company I’m with. So as soon as I’m able to find a job in California, that’s where I’m going with Kim as well. I suspect this will take longer than a month, but still, it’s a considerable amount of time. I’m going to try to be on as much as I can, but do keep in mind, I’m looking for a job. A place to live. A solution to this entire mess. Due to a former employee of the company having some major dirt on the company that they were doing, we’re not sure just how much time we have until he lets it loose and puts the company, and our jobs, in dire jeopardy.

Dragons Are Yummy

To those that attended the stellar day on the 15th, thanks for coming! The drops were minimal, but the experience at least was something else! Even on 50% tax I got quite a bit, pretty much everyone leveled. Besides Makkarei who showed up pretty late. The next Stellar day is on the 20th (a Monday) and I hope that we can organize a party with a good tank! The tank made all the difference. Not to mention the Mental Sensing from Mike’s other accounts.

Wrapping Up

That’s pretty much it I would say. Sorry this came so late, but again, I’ve been under heavy stress. Stay gold everyone and…

The Banker Valkyrie

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

There are quite a few additions as of late. Some of which you need to be informed of and some of which you have heard talk of up and down for over a week. Let’s start off with the biggest of the changes. This being the Valkyrie server and the 125% EXP and drop rates that we have now!

Valkyrie, EXP, and You

The new server that was put up on the 25th of September has closed a vast majority of botters to the now deemed “Premium Servers” Loki, Chaos, and Iris. There are a few still out there, but they’ll be shut down soon enough. The only way botters are going to be on the Premium Servers are if they pay for the account. This of course is a major reason as to why the cut has come and the drop rates were increased. Because of the lack of bots on the server, people were afraid it would cause the collapse of the economy. Point being that we were just used to the prices that the bots put us at. In time we’ll get used to the prices that everything will go to and people will get proper compensation when selling rares and such.

As is obvious with the post, the EXP and drop rates have been increased by 25% for a total of 125%. This is one of their major pulls to get people to stop playing on the free Valkyrie Server and move on up to the Premium Servers. This isn’t the only change, the cost of Kafra Items is dropped as well! This I haven’t confirmed for myself. I’ve only heard about this addition through Mike. Shushu is a busy Shushu nowadays.

The Guild Bank

Thanks to Makkarei giving some of his guild treasures to our guild, I’ve set up the Guild Bank which I will proceed to give a fancier name in the future. Much more fancy. If the link in this paragraph doesn’t work for you, odds are, you aren’t permitted to see it due to the area that it’s posted in. If you are part of the alliance and would like to see it, you have to register on the forums and request ingame, through ventrilo, or through one of your guildies to talk to me so I can change your permissions. Again, if you need it, here are the names you can contact me at.

  • Jah Shujin
  • Saishu Hane
  • Melody Firebrand
  • Janice Alfanta
  • Leslie Firebrand
  • Shus RL Stalker

I’ve specified for the most part on how things are going to be handled with the Guild Bank in the thread on the forums concerning the bank.

The Abyss Parties

I’ve done a bit of looking at the Abyss parties and there are a few things I want to say about it. If we stick to the original plan, things usually go pretty well. Deviation however like in the first of the abyss parties will undoubtedly get us killed. lol I tried fighting Hydrolancer on the TKM while in Union and with Stellar Heat on. xD I died in less than a second due to the mob being around me, physical damage taken, and the 50% HP loss a second from the Union penalty.

I want to be able to provide supplies more often to the people that come, but we need more success in our runs there as well as the drops. A lot more in terms of drops since I want everyone to have a cut of the items, but when I bring it up, no one says anything specific. So of course, I put it right into the Guild Bank. Neko is the first to get one of the stone bucklers to decrease the death rate. 5% from large type monsters and with the Sky Petite, that’s 30% less damage from the majority of the monsters in Abyss Lake.

So You Want In?

Now, let’s talk parties. There are a certain amount of characters I would like to bring down there optimally. The levels are also very important as well. Currently my TaeKwon Master is level 86. So the highest we can have is 96, and the lowest we can have is 76. Though of course, we can’t have the 96 and 76 in the same party. If we could organize two parties that would be cool, but the thing is, they wouldn’t get near the experience that the more powerful party has. Let’s say my TKM was in the 86-96 group. The other group would get next to nothing. Not to mention that on days divisible by 5, I get a boost in EXP on Gold Acidus by 200%. So effectively, 250% thanks to the recent increase.

The roles of the people that will be going are also important. Ideally, this is what I want.

  • 6 DPS (one of which will be me)
  • 3 Pullers (Saders, Knights, Sins, Dragonology Sages, Snatch Rogues)
  • 3 Healers (Priests/High Priests)

This is to keep the party balanced, our pullers alive, and our exp tapping ability great. Again, I feel I have to note that on days divisible by 5, my TKM needs to be the one killing. By this I mean landing the killing blow. If I’m not the one killing the Gold Acidus, we don’t get the exp bonus. So on those days, DPS, tap it and move to the next monster. In an incomplete party (9), at 190 attack speed, my TKM can do about 3400 damage per hit. Believe me, I can kill it myself, but I need you to tap it. People with AoE skills are very welcome.

That’s pretty much it for my update. lol So stay gold everyone and….
